This year we did something extra-ordinary: we obeyed God!

What’s so extraordinary about that? Well, sometimes obeying God is scary. We have been looking for property for several years, but in December 2010 we felt God wanted us to leave the property we were leasing, even though we hadn’t found the ideal piece of property. So like Abraham, we set off towards a new way of doing ministry.

For us, that new way has involved dividing the church into a group of house churches meeting all over the state of Maryland. Each house church meets at 10:30am on Sunday morning. We start with praise and prayer, and then at 11am we all listen to a live 40min sermon by teleconference, followed by group discussion, giving, testimonies and fellowship. The children are not left out. In each of our house churches, adults are assigned to teach the children, and are given resources to guide them. Each of our house churches is also involved in a community outreach effort like dealing with homelessness or feeding the hungry.

In the meantime, ministry still goes on. Our ministry teams are still functioning, our pastors and elders visit the different house churches each weak, counseling and teleconference services are still going on, leadership training continues. There continue to be events for the children, teens, young adults, couples, men and women. We are still raising funds, saving money, and looking for a building/property that can be the center of our ministry activity. We also meet corporately once a month, where we all gather together in one place for service together. 

This new season has been amazing for us! It is a whole new way of doing church and we are excited to continue in this pattern till God gives us a church building or our next instruction!
